School Daze!!!!!!!

I just can't believe how fast the time flies!!! I feel like I was just posting about our trip to Disneyworld, and already its been over a month! August was filled with fun and lots of new things for the Comte family.

Austin started KINDERGARTEN!!!!! It was quite the emotional day for me, although I don't know why! He did so great and has a great teacher. She's young and excited, which makes Austin really excited to go to school. He is so excited everyday to tell me all about CAMP (computer, art, music and PE) and everything he did...like buying his own lunch in the lunch line! He is just growing up WAY too fast and having so much fun doing it!!!

This was on the first day of school. Notice our dog Aggie in the background looking out the window like she wants to come with him!
I can't believe my baby boy is all grown up!!
Kayla was so excited that Austin was starting something new, too...but she kept wanting to give him hugs before he and I headed off!!

In addition to starting kindergarten, Austin started playing football! Practices went on all month, with his first game on August 29. We are still getting used to the tackling and everything that comes with football! We had given Austin the choice to play tackle or flag this year and he said he wanted to play tackle. WELLLLLL...Austin is one of the smallest and youngest on the team and he hasn't really been around "rough" boys (as he calls them!) He told us after one practice that he didn't understand why they had to be so rough. When I asked him what he meant, he said "I just don't understand why they have to push me around and tackle me!" When we finally explained to him that it was part of football, he started to feel better about it!

This was Austin at his first practice...before pads!

This was the scrimmage...Austin's team is in blue! I'm pretty sure that might result in a holding penalty!!

We're still working on going after the player who has the ball and not just someone standing on the field...as well as not tackling said person when you see them standing on the field!

This was the first REAL game of the year! Of course, he's wearing #12!!

We did a lot of standing around at this game...we're just learning the basics at this point!

Kayla is so proud of her big brother!

Austin loves having his Uncle D there to watch him play and teach him how to do things right! They spent much time in the living room after this game working on Austin's stance and tackling. I think Donnie enjoyed it as much as Austin!

My nephew turned one last week and they had a Cowboys themed birthday party...so we of course participated! Ignore this picture if you get a Christmas card from us!

After the party, Austin, Joe and I went to the first Aggie game of the year...which was a W!!! After the game, we went down on the field and walked around. Austin even got to sit on the cannon and take a picture with some "real army men"! He was so excited. Then we walked over to where the players were coming out of the locker room to see a friend of ours and Austin met MANY of the players...he was SO excited!!!

Summer, Summer, Summertime!!!

WARNING!!! LOTS OF PICS!!!

WOW! So, I have decided that we as a family have had the BEST summer ever!!! It has been so busy, but with so much fun stuff! As you can tell, I did not get around to posting when we were in Disneyworld! The trip was SO much fun, but probably the most exhausting vacation I've EVER been on!

Kayla really enjoyed her first airplane ride and did so well on the plane. Austin was so sweet to her and was holding her hand the entire time so she didn't get scared. When we finally got to the Caribbean Beach Resort, we found Mickey Mouse ears in our room that had been left for the kiddos (after I paid for them!)...they loved them!

The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom, which was such a long day, but SO much fun! The kids were in awe from the moment we walked in the park and we were off! We rode many of the rides and the kids really enjoyed them! Mid afternoon, we went back to the hotel to rest for a little while and then went back to the Magic Kingdom for the parade and fireworks...and then got back to the hotel at 1:00 AM!!! It made for a very long night...and an early next day!

The next morning, we went to eat with Chef Mickey and friends...where the kids got autographs and we took pictures. Kayla didn't want to be in the pictures without one of us...which made for some very fun pictures. The kids loved getting to meet the characters and got more and more excited as we went on.

!
After breakfast, we went to Epcot and tried to ride some of the rides. Getting to Epcot late is not a good idea...it was packed and all the rides had really long lines. Add that to the fact that everyone was tired and cranky and we decided to go back to the hotel and relax and go swimming. And rest up for the next day at Animal Kingdom!!!

Animal Kingdom was GREAT! The kids loved the safari and seeing all the animals. We were so close to many of them and really enjoyed ourselves. We started off the day with another character breakfast, which was really fun AGAIN!

After Animal Kingdom we spent another day at both Epcot and Magic Kingdom. It gave all of us time to ride the rides that were our favorites and see things we missed the first time! We also had dinner with Pooh and Friends...where Kayla realized that it was fun to take pictures with the characters without us!

On our second day at Epcot, Amy and I took the girls to the Bippity Boppity Boutique to get done up for their princess dinner that night. Kayla put up with it for a little while and then had a breakdown...but not before we were able to get a crown in her hair! That night, we went to eat dinner with the princesses while the boys all went to eat with Chip & Dale (I don't have any pictures from that!)

The last park we went to was the Hollywood Studios (formerlly MGM). It was really fun, although there weren't as many rides as the previous parks. We saw lots of shows, including a stunt show and the American Idol Experience. Austin also rode Star Tours (the Star Wars ride) 4 TIMES! It was definitely his favorite! We went back to the hotel a little earlier that night...it was actually still light when we got back!

The trip was overall a success...although we definitely learned not to go back in July. The kids had such a great time and still talk about it. Austin told me it was the best trip he'd been on in his WHOLE LIFE...haha!

More updates to come. The Bombers season is almost over and we're getting ready for Kindergarten...AHHHHHHH!!! Austin also started football this week...as soon as I get the pictures uploaded, I will post them!
